The word Halcyon means calm, peaceful, and prosperous, It comes from Greek mythology — the story of Alcyone, who was transformed into a kingfisher after a great loss at sea. Each winter, the gods calmed the winds and waves around the solstice so she could nest safely on the water, giving us the phrase "halcyon days": a season of peace within the storm. It's an image we carry into every treatment room — that even amid difficulty, calm can be restored.
